“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6, NKJV)
Natural law is one of the clearest proofs that God is orderly. Gravity is consistent. Inertia is predictable. A person can build an airplane or launch a rocket because the universe is stable. Natural laws do not change on a whim, and they do not require my agreement to function. They simply are.
Spiritual authority works in a similar way. All things work by spiritual authority. There is a kind of “law of gravity” in the spirit realm. Many people think of the spirit realm as the playground of a God who does whatever He wants. God is certainly wise enough to orchestrate events and powerful enough to bring influence where He desires. God still operates within the laws He established because He is righteous. Order is part of who He is.
This perspective changes the way I interpret my life. It challenges victim mentality and self-pity. Life often feels random. Pain can feel like a lightning strike. Fear grows because the heart believes something could destroy my life at any moment for no reason. Spiritual law invites a different response. Instead of being paralyzed by fear, I begin to search out how spiritual authority works and cooperate with it in a way that overcomes.
This is not cold or clinical. It is hopeful. When scientists discovered natural law, it catapulted civilization forward. People learned to work with the created order rather than guessing. Discovery produced progress. Understanding spiritual law can catapult a believer’s spiritual walk in the same way. Faith becomes less fragile when it is built on the reality of God’s order rather than the assumption of randomness.
This also brings responsibility. If God operates by authority and order, then my response can limit or release what God is doing in my life. Obedience matters. Prayer matters. Repentance matters. Humility matters. God does not go where I do not go. If I refuse His ways, I should not be surprised when I experience the consequences of self-rule.
A new kind of courage emerges here. The Christian life becomes less about luck and more about alignment. I stop waiting for the universe to treat me kindly. I start choosing to cooperate with God’s ways. That cooperation is the bedrock of spiritual authority.
Reflection Question
Where do I feel like a victim of circumstances, and what might God be inviting me to understand and cooperate with?
Prayer
Father, teach me to see life through the lens of Your order and spiritual authority. Deliver me from fear that treats life as random. Give me wisdom to cooperate with Your ways and faith to trust Your righteousness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Obedience Step for Today
Identify one area where you feel “stuck.” Ask: “What response has God been calling for here?” Choose one clear step of obedience or prayer that aligns with Scripture and practice it today.
